Longwood Run is located just south of the Sarasota-Manatee County border off University Parkway. Although just minutes away from I-75 and shopping, it still is able to maintain its integrity as a nature wonderland. Seven lakes offer refuge to wildlife including many species of wading birds, ducks and turtles. Longwood Run is proud to be the home to Sand Cranes who can be seen strolling down the street in the spring with their babies.

Longwood Park, a county owned facility, is located in the vicinity. This park offers a gym, inside meeting rooms, a playground, basketball, tennis courts and a large picnic pavilion is available to rent for a nominal fee.

Located in Longwood Run is the Longwood Athletic Club. This club includes a recreational swimming pool, 2 all sport courts, sauna, aerobic room and more! If tennis is your thing, there are 18 tennis courts, 12 har tru, 2 red clay and 4 hard. Open to the public, the club offers a variety of programs to the young and older folks. For more information call 941-351-1750 or on the web at www.longwoodathleticclub.com

Longwood Run is a deed-restricted community with an active homeowners association. Annual fees are $375 for the master association. This includes maintenance for all the common areas, the lakes and roads. Board members are proud to be fiscally responsible and have increased services while keeping the annual fee one of the lowest in the area.

The Del Sol guardhouse is used as a community lending library on Saturdays and a group of volunteers maintain it. All are welcome.

Sidewalks and friendly neighbors encourage walking, jogging and biking. Plus the proximity to shopping, restaurants and I-75 all help make Longwood Run a great place to live!
